LookFirst exists because staying put costs money. Rates move every morning; most loans, savings accounts and energy plans don't move with them, and the difference between the rate you're on and the rates providers publish today is a bill most households never see itemised. The site's one job is to turn that difference into a number you can read.

The data comes from the Consumer Data Right - the open-data framework under which Australian banks and energy retailers publish their product terms. LookFirst reads the feeds daily and stamps each page with when they were read; what a provider doesn't publish is shown as not stated, never guessed. The full sourcing detail is on Our data.
